Nouns
Verbs

How should we approach technology use?

Marc Prensky talks about Nouns v. Verbs.

  • Gardner's 5 Minds for the Future

  • 21st Century Skills

  • Discipline-specific objectives

What tools are available to help students do that?

Which tool (of the many) will work best in your environment?

Nouns change, verbs don't

  • PowerPoint

  • Keynote

  • Google Presentations

  • Prezi

  • Projeqt

  • Haiku Deck

  • Educreations

  • Glogster

  • Comic Life

  • Enhanced Podcast

  • Vidcast

  • Digital Storytelling

  • Websites

  • etc.

Tools that facilitate presentation (nouns)
Example: Present (verb)

With all of the tools out there, how do we decide what to use?

Time to investigate.

Choose a verb that is important to you and your students. Use the Internet to research tools that you might use to have your students perform that verb. Choose one that you are interested in and create a brief presentation about it using the presentation tool of your choice.
